This week I went to Coloma Outdoor Discovery School with my class and my mom as a chaperone. We went gold panning. I learned that James Marshall, who worked at Sutters Mill, found the gold nugget that started the Gold Rush. Even though Mom found a spider's egg sack on her bed in the cabin, it was worth it!
An Indian Culture Keeper named Kimberly Shining Star came and gave us a presentation on the Miwok tribe. We also had a hoe down lesson and did the Virginia Real. I went on a 2.3 mile hike, and I did a presentation on the BLACK OAK TREE!!!!! Going to Coloma was a treat, thanks to our naturalists!!
Eureka!!!!!! ;] i found gold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
