The Recital!!!

Ok, yesterday, I finished my last recital showing. This is a picture of my first dance costume:
...and the girl in the pink? Thats my sister, Annelise. My sister, Audrey (blonde girl), and I are in the sapphire blue dresses.
This is Audrey in our tap outfit.

Look how cute our jazz costumes are! This was my favorite dance out of all of the dances.

Now, I'm exhausted!!! I'm gonna go nap....

yippee for this weekend! Sorry for the short post...

Ok, this weekend is my dance recital, and today is my rehearsal. I'll be dancing to the song Lights, Camera, Action! for our jazz dance. For our ballet, I'll be dancing to the song, Breakfast at Tiffany's. And, finally, for my tap class, I'll be dancing to the song, Jumping Jack. I love the choreography and the costumes for all our dances! After the recital, I'll be posting pictures of me onstage. And next week, I'll be leaving for Colorado! Time for rehearsal, I'll post more later.

The last couple of days

Ok, first, I would've posted sooner, but our Internet crashed. AGAIN (This is a reoccurring problem... (no, I don't live in Wisconsin, people ask me that a lot) Stupid AT&T keeps saying "There is a reoccurring problem in your area, and until further notice, there will be no Internet service available in your area." but then, they send us a FULL-PAYMENT bill, and not to mention we are paying for someone to come and fix our access point. They call it 'appreciation'. I call it infuriating.) Finally, my friends at the middle school are out for the summer. No more moping around in my bedroom!!! YES! And, my friend, Isabelle (Izzy for short) came over to my house to swim in our inflatable baby pool, and we all sucked on Otter Pops and drank fruit punch. WHAT A GREAT WAY TO KICK OFF THE SUMMER!!!

Anyhow, My dad has made a big milestone on the duck aviary. He got the future waterfall and filter system to work! And, not to mention, the roofing is all bolted on now. So, Tiny Dancer can sleep well at night knowing that no owls or other predators can swoop in and take our little bundle of quack away. Ha ha. I'm a natural born comedian. My life is just pure Laugh-O-Media.

So, basically, you didn't miss much on the last couple of days. Except that I was stupid enough to break ANOTHER bracket on my braces alignment. Ugh. Now, it's dangling loose in my mouth. Can't stop wiggling it around. And, to make matters worse, my orthodontist isn't in this weekend, so I have to wait until he gets back in the office. So he can fix the darned thing!!

Joke of the day (In my dad's opinion)

This morning when I was doing the dishes, Dad came downstairs, and I said:

Katelyn: "Hey Dad, can I write a blog post after I finish the dishes?"

Dad:  "Yes."

Katelyn: "Okay. Believe me, I learned my lesson with finishing the dishes. Mom screeched at me for, I swear, was an hour. She kept on blabbering about how we kids don't do hardly any of the housework around here, and how we only have to do a small portion of the work and she stays up 'til twelve in the morning cleaning up our mess. What a nightmare."

Dad: "You know what I think about that?"

Katelyn: "What?"

Dad: *farts*

What a life I'm living...

Tiny Dancer, Not so tiny anymore!

Our unusual pet, Tiny dancer, has grown quite a lot since we got him:

From this tiny duckling, she has grown into this strong, confident duck who is now living in the comfort of her own duck aviary with a homemade duck pond with a filter system (pictures are to come later). We think she is a mallard, but I'm not that convinced.

You may be wondering how our suburban family came across a wild duck. Well, my dad is a fireman/paramedic. So one day, his department got a call saying that 5 little ducklings got trapped in a storm drain and their mother ran off in fright. So, he went on the call and only managed to save 1 duckling (Tiny Dancer). And as it turns out, we got to keep it. And, just for your reference, we have had ducks before. When my 5th going into 6th grade sister, Audrey, was in 2nd grade, she had a teacher who raised ducks as a science project, and she gave them to us. Unfortunately, at the end of the summer, we had to give them away, but we gave them to a nice farm in a neighboring city. Now, after this duck flies away, my parents are thinking about getting 3 poultry ducks that lay eggs! so, I'm very excited!

Summer Party!!!

Ok, I have to admit, I LOVE a good party. And today, my wonderful adoring mom threw our homeschool friends a party at the park! What a fun way to start up the summer!
These are the amazingly clever cupcakes my mom made for the party! Talk about fun in the sun!!!

Our amazing group of friends all came to our graduation party! Thank you amazing moms for making this possible! love you all!
